          Dr Fatima Laher has considerable experience in evidence-based HIV medicine, having already helped over 2000 HIV-positive men, women and children on antiretroviral therapy. Her proficiency extends to niche expertise in antiretroviral therapy, drug resistance and salvage therapies, pregnancy and safe conception, adolescence, as well as skill in the management of co-morbidities.

          Five years working in strategic and clinical drug trials has placed Dr Fatima Laher at the forefront of emerging HIV treatment science. She frequently publishes academic papers, conference abstracts and articles that are recognized as significant to the field both nationally and internationally. At the Perinatal HIV Research Unit, she now leads the Soweto clinical research site of the international HIV Vaccines Trials Network in the search for a vaccine against HIV and related illnesses.
