A stab wound is very painful isn't it? Is it more than a 3rd degree burn wound? What about when a dog bites your limb off? And what about labor pain? These are all extreme types of physical pain but u can't compare one to the other.
Its like different colors. They are all different and they bring different emotions to us. Looking at brown will make you feel different to when you're looking at yellow or blue. You just can't compare colors.
There's also the emotional pain. Is death of a loved one more painful than a break up with a partner? What about receiving bad news from a doctor? Can one differentiate these types of pain? No. I think its like flavors strawberry will give you a different feeling to vanilla or passion fruit but they're all pleasant.
I also wonder a lot how emotional pain differs from the physical pain or to sadness? We always experience the one because of the other. Is sadness not a form of emotional pain?
Which is more severe, physical or emotional pain? Can one compare a color to a flavor? You just can't, or can you? Let's say u get attacked by a tiger. Its the worst kind of physical pain. You then get news that you'll never walk again, that causes emotional pain right? Which of the two is worse? You just can't compare the two. Its like comparing death of a parent to death of a child. You just can't compare.
What happens when a person feels emotional pain and then inflicts physical pain to themselves? Will the one ever match the other? How does one measure the two? Some people scream when in pain and some cry but does this mean ones pain is worse than the other?
We all deal differently to pain. There is not a single person who can clearly describe pain. I mean pain of a wound can also feel like more of a burn and all these can lead to emotional pain. What happens when you have both at the same time? What about when the pain is constant? You can have medicine to control the physical pain but what about the emotional pain? Anti depressants work wonders to change ones mood but does it also take away the pain? Depression, sadness, guilt, are all a result of emotional pain. Once one has dealt with those feelings does the pain go away? Does this to a certain degree mean that anti depressants help with emotional pain?
There is no clear description or measure to pain. You can't compare the color purple to an orange to a grapefruit.
